Training

PAC periodically undertake training and educational events for its members.  On some occasions other organizations such as certification bodies are also welcome to attend.  The current planned training activities are:

2018

PAC events for all PAC Members with PAC funding for eligible PAC Members
AUD 500 funding contribution per event for each eligible PAC Member (BAB (Bangladesh), BSB (Bhutan), CNAC-DA (Cambodia), NABCB (India), NABET (India), KAN (Indonesia), KCA (Kyrgyz Republic), MNAS (Mongolia), PNAC (Pakistan), PNGLAS (Papua New Guinea), PAB (the Philippines), SLAB (Sri Lanka) and BoA (Viet Nam)), only if the event is not being hosted with in that PAC Member's economy and the PAC Member is not already a PAC MLA sigantory for the relevant scope or subscope.

22-23 Feb 2018, ISO/IEC 17011:2017 2-day workshop in Jaipur, India, hosted by NABCB (India).  For PAC peer evaluators (preference for those peer evaluators that are from non-APEC Member economies and that have not attended training yet) – Self funded with PAC travel subsidy for eligible PAC Members.

6-8 May 2018, ISO/IEC 17011:2017 3-day general training, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, hosted by GAC (GCC Member States) in cooperation with the Emirates National Accreditation System (ENAS) - Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA).  For all PAC Members – Self funded with PAC travel subsidy for eligible PAC Members. 

 

APLAC and PAC events for APLAC and PAC Members that are from APEC Member economies only, with APEC funding for eligible economies (APEC project CTI 31 2017A Transition to ISO/IEC 17011:2017 in APEC Member economies)

Eligible economies are Chile, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, Peru, Russia, Thailand and Viet Nam.

2 Mar 2018, ISO/IEC 17011:2017 1-day high-level briefing and strategy session, Singapore, hosted by PAC.  For CEOs and Senior Executives of accreditation bodies that are from APEC Member cconomies only (Morning: 17011 briefing, main changes etc. Afternoon: Strategy session to review APEC work programme and identify opportunities for APLAC/PAC engagement) – Self funding only

4-5 Apr 2018, ISO/IEC 17011:2017 2-day workshop for accreditation/technical/quality managers in accreditation bodies, Kuala Lumpur, hosted by Standards Malaysia. For Quality/Technical/Accreditation Managers of accreditation bodies from APEC Member economies only – APEC funding for eligible APEC Member cconomies.

2-3 Jun 2018, ISO/IEC 17011:2017 2-day workshops for existing APLAC Peer evaluators.  For APLAC peer evaluators that are from APEC Member economies only, and that have not attended ISO/IEC 17011:2017 training to date – APEC funding for eligible APEC Member economies.

2-3 Jun 2018, ISO/IEC 17011:2017 2-day workshops for existing PAC Peer evaluators.  For PAC peer evaluators that are from APEC Member economies only, and that have not attended ISO/IEC 17011:2017 training to date – APEC funding for eligible APEC Member economies.

11 Aug 2018, 1-day high-level briefing on ISO/IEC 17011:2017 and accreditation for APEC delegates, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – For APEC delegates (standards, conformance and trade policy officials) – Self funding only

PAC events for all PAC Members with PTB funding for eligible PAC Members

25-27 Jun 2018, 3-day general training on food safety schemes (GFSI schemes etc.), Ontario, California, United States of America, hosted by ANSI.

31 Jul - 2 Aug 2018, ISO/IEC 17021-1 3-day general training with a focus on ISO 45001, Occupational health and safety management systems certification, Singapore, hosted by SAC.

17-19 Oct 2018, ISO/IEC 17024 3-day general training with a focus on person certification schemes, Sydney, Australia, hosted by JAS-ANZ.

30 Oct - 1 Nov 2018, ISO/IEC 17021-1 3-day general training with a focus on ISO 13485, Medical device quality management systems certification, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, hosted by Standards Malaysia.

21-22 Nov 2018, ISO/IEC 17065 2-day general training with a focus on process certification, the Philippines, hosted by PAB.

To be scheduled in 2018, Train-the-trainer workshop. For personnel of APLAC and PAC accreditation bodies that have responsibility for carrying out training activities, including training needs assessments, learning programme development, training skills and evaluation techniques of the effectiveness of training activities.

Normally these events are administered via an online registration system.  Once the event registration website is live a link will appear in the above list so you can register your interest in attendance.  Normally you will require the agreement of a PAC Member in your economy to attend.  In some instances donor funding is available to assist developing countries to attend.
